Little bit something new

IMG_0366

Few weeks ago I ordered some makeup from cocopanda, which is a Finnish online reseller. For me spending too much money can’t be avoided when it comes to buying makeup. Lucky for me (and my bank account) cocopanda has lot of products on sale so I made good finds from there. I have been absolutely loving everything I bought so I thought I could do little haul/review.

Lets start with my favorite of them all, Mary-Lou Manizer by the Balm. I have been searching for a good highlighter a while now and when I saw this one I just had to get it. I know the Balm’s products have really good quality so I knew this one wouldn’t let me down. And yes it was little more pricy but it was totally worth it. It has good pigment and it gives my skin soft and beautiful sheer glow – just what I was looking for.

From top to the bottom (my arm) Istanbul, Tiramisu and Copenhagen

Next the lips. I have been using quite neutral colors in my lips lately, basically just different shades of brown. But now when the autumn is coming darker shades appeal to me the most. That is why my favorite of these three is Copenhagen, the dark purple one. That is why my favorite of these three is Copenhagen, the dark purple one. Both of the soft matte lip creams feel smooth on the lips and they are easy to apply. You do have to re-apply them after an hour or two but that’s normal with liquid lipsticks.

The butter gloss wasn’t really for me, I love the color but I am too into matte lip products right now. It felt sticky on the lips and it was way too glossy for my taste.

Before this contour palette I owned only few bronzers and since contour has been huge trend nowadays I wanted to give it a shot too. If I remember right this palette costed only  8 euros so it was really good for my budget. It’s not the best you could have, but it works for me. The brown in the middle goes well with my skin so I have been using that the most. The yellow one works well with dark circles and the highlighter on top right gives slight glow for your skin.

I have lot of veins around my eyes (especially in my eyelids) and I have always had dark circles underneath my eyes so as you can guess they are really hard to cover with makeup. And believe me I have tried everything. So I was really glad to discover this new product (at least for me) by Lumene. It’s really easy to apply and it’s long-lasting. I feel like it’s actually covering the dark circles, so I am happy with it.

I don’t have much to say about the eyelid primer. It does it’s job that’s all. I bought it mostly because of  the pretty packaging. It reminds me of benefit which is my favorite makeup brand for many reasons. Hah.

I would recommend to visit cocopanda, my order came really fast and it wasn’t damaged at all. Also if you spend over 40 euros you don’t have to pay for the shipping so that’s big plus.

Blouse – weekday // Culottes – Zara // Shoes – Vans

I have finally learned to love my wide-leg culottes from Zara. When I bought them I couldn’t find anything to match with them and I wanted to return them, but I never did that. Now I’m just glad. These culottes are everything you could ask for. They are high-wasted which is a big plus and since they are black every color goes with them. But if you have read my blog you can see that I am hooked with neutral colors. This outfit is another proof of that, hah. Too bad that I discovered this culotte trend only now, when the weather here is getting cold. These trousers are made to use around summer time for sure, because the fabric is thin and you can feel the wind through them. But maybe the weather gets better again and I can use these more, you never know..

Also, me and my friend Vilma found this beautiful part of Helsinki where we have been taking pictures and wandering around a lot lately. There are cute apartments and buildings behind every corner. These pictures are from there too, surprise surprise and all the credit  of them goes to Vilma once again. You can check out her blog from here.

Breakfast pancakes

Lately it has been raining a lot here in Finland, which makes the weather quite depressing. I thought it would be nice to do little throwback to the mid summer, since the sun was still shining back then.

I had a sleepover with my friend and we wanted to do big breakfast with pancakes, croissants, fruits and so on. I have never been big fan of pancakes, but that’s just because I have never succeed with making them. I always end up burning them or breaking them when trying to flip them around. This time we tried a recipe from ruoka.fi, the pancakes were easy to cook  and they ended up being delicious. So I thought I could share it with you.

American pancakes

prep time 40 minutes — cooking time 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • One big egg
  • 2 deciliters milk
  • 2 deciliters plain flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon caster sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar (golden caster sugar)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of butter for cooking (canola oil etc.)

Method

Break the egg into a large bowl. Mix together milk, flour and baking powder in another bowl, then add the sugars and salt. Mix them with the egg. At last add the butter and stir to a smooth batter then leave it to the fridge for a while.

Heat non-stick frying pan (teflo) and grease the pan lightly with butter. Pour some of the batter into a pan, about one or two table spoons. Remember that the batter will rise a lot. Cook both sides for few minutes, they are ready when they are golden and firm. Before you start to cook next one remember to re-greace the pan.

We ate the pancakes with maple syrup and berries but you can also serve them with yoghurt, butter, fresh fruits or whatever you prefer.

Bomber jacket – Bershka // Dress – Zara // Combat boots – Din Sko // Backpack – Kånken

Some people would say it’s still summer, but I’m not one of them. I have never really enjoyed the hot weather and showing bare skin. I am more cold weather kinda girl. That is why I’m glad fall is coming and I can start to wear tights and knee-high socks.

The outfit above is for sure going to be my ‘go-to’ outfit for autumn. I am loving that emerald-green dress, the color is just perfect for colder weather. The dress was one of those finds that you hesitate at first but then you find yourself wearing it all the time. Also so much love for my bomber jacket which is from Bershka. I really like the fabric since it’s matte finish, not shiny. The jacket goes with everything so what a surprise that I have been wearing it nonstop after I bought it.

I have had my combat boots for three years and I will never get tired of them. They go well with everything so it was easy to match them with my dress. Black tights and the Kånken backpack were the nice finishing touch which gave the outfit little more autumn vibes.

Fall in love with Helsinki

Over a week ago my friend from Holland came to Finland. She was staying here couple days so we had little time to explore Helsinki (which was nice since I don’t do that much even though I live here). We visited really cute places so I wanted to share some of our time with you.

First place was HAM – Helsinki Art Museum. It was a place full of confusing art. I wondered around with mixed feelings, sometimes feeling happy sometimes uncomfortable. But isn’t that the point? Art gives everyone different experience.

This might sound little silly but my favorite part of the museum was definitely the bathroom. It had pretty colors as you can see from the picture above and the mirror said “you don’t know how beautiful you are”. It was a part of exhabition too and it was just so cute.

We also visited Museum of Broken Relationships. The Museum consists of items and stories behind them that are related to broken relationships. It was really interesting to read what people around the world had experienced. There was stories written with pain, humor, bitterness, relief and so much more. They also had a book there where you could share your own story of love and loss. It was adorable.

I recommend everyone to visit this museum, it won’t let you down I promise.

At last I want to say little bit about this beautiful harbor in Eira, Helsinki. We  had to do some walking to get there but it was totally worth it because the weather was so nice. We bought ice creams and just sat there watching people who walked by. It was great end for the day.

Incase someone wants to know my dress is from Zara. I had finally chance to wear it since it was warm and sunny. I usually don’t go for v-necks but this dress was just too pretty not to buy. Heh. And of course I had my black Vans on, they are basically the only shoes I wear.

Anyway I had great time discovering Helsinki, and if you live here or ever decide to come for a visit you really should check these places out!

Dark denim

I went to Estonia a while ago and I fell completely in love with those black overalls. They are perfect. Denim all the way of course, but they are still loose and comfortable to wear. I bought them from Bershka, a store that I normally don’t find clothes from. They had big sale going on (lucky me) so to my surprise I made great finds from there.

When it was time to wear the overalls, I struggled to find something that would match with them. That was just because Finnish weather is so unpredictable. You never know if  a t-shirt is better choice than a long-sleeved shirt. So after trying half of my wardrobe on, I ended up wearing my dark green longsleeve from Bershka, Michael Kors backpack and  a pair of black Vans. I was ready to face Helsinki. Yay.

Ps. I am ashamed to admit that it took me way too long to publish new blog post. For an excuse lets just say that I was struggling with WordPress. From now on I will post much more regularly. 🙂

Oh and one more thing, my friend Vilma took these pictures of me and you definitely should check out her beautiful blog from here.

The beginning

Hey lovely people! This is going to be my first blog post here, so I apologize if it’s little messy and confusing.

My name is Jasmin and I am 19-year-old girl from lovely country called Finland. I love taking photos but currently I am using my phone (iPhone 6) so I am aware of the fact that the pictures I’ll be posting won’t have the perfect quality. I apologize for that already.

My blog won’t have specific theme, but I guess you could call this more like lifestyle blog than anything else. I love cooking and I am vegetarian so I will write articles about food. I also love following beauty and fashion trends so you will see posts about those things too. So basically I will just write about things that fascinate me. Anyway, I hope you like my messy blog and enjoy scrolling through it! 🙂

I didn’t want my first post end up being short and boring so I thought it would be nice to add few pictures from the other day, when I went to Helsinki with my friends. So here is me trying to rock my yellow raincoat…
