What does street style even mean? A specific style of fashion that is inspired by urban street people or just simply a type of fashion that is personal to you. Who knows. I guess everyone can define it themselves but for me this outfit was screaming street style. Because after all I was wandering around the streets wearing them clothes looking oh so stylish (sarcasm? yes). Haha.

I don’t know why I am so obsessed with red right now but I can’t stop myself from buying new beautiful pieces that have at least a pinch of red in it. Maybe it’s because red is one of the colors during christmas, or maybe I have finally jumped out of my comfort zone which was filled with neutral colors, who knows. The point is: Red all the way and I’m lovin’ it!

Sweater – Zara // Jacket – Zara // Skirt – Zara // Hat – Brixton // Shoes – Adidas

I first thought that I couldn’t match red with anything else than black & white but look at me trying to add the pinch of color with that blue denim skirt. It’s a little bit too big for me but I loved the pearl details of it too much so I just couldn’t leave it to the store. Now since the cold weather is here and I have huge urge to wear oversized sweaters and everything comfy in general it being slightly too big works just fine. I can sneakily hide all the extra fabric underneath it.

And what comes to black & white, I think my black Brixton hat is a perfect match for red. It’s something that you see on the streets a lot these days and no wonder why as it’s simply just so gorgeous. And to have more black on my outfit I added black tights and a leather jacket. And then last but not least the pinch of white that was necessary: my Adidas sneakers. I will stick to them until there is snow on the ground and my feet will freeze.

To be honest I never thought I would find myself wearing huge oversized sweaters. But yet here I am obsessing over everything big, soft and comfy. And the bigger the better. This sweater I am wearing is from Zara and it’s definition of comfy. It’s so big that it reaches almost my knees which I absolutely love. The wool is soft and warm surprise surprise I know. Perfect for cold autumn days, and even more perfect once winter is here. Also when haven’t I loved beige? Never, indeed. Thank god it seems to go never out of style, not at least this fall as all the stores are filled with the shades of brown. So please let’s take a moment to appreciate the perfect oversized sweater. Thank you.

Sweater – Zara // Trousers – Monki // Backpack – Longchamp // Shoes – Vagabond (similar)

Since I am quite a small person I have been struggling with how to wear this big sweater.    I have seen so many people rocking oversized sweaters but when I tried to do the same with mine, nothing looked good. Then I came across these checked trousers in Monki and BOOM I was in love. Perfect match, almost at least. These trousers have slightly oversized fit which is why they are super nice on. And all I care about during this cold season is confines so yes you will see a lot more of these in the future.

I don’t know where it came from, but I have been wearing thin black socks underneath trousers and I am loving how it looks. I guess it adds nice detail, just like my beloved Daniel Wellington watch. I bet you all have already seen it so many times but it just brings nice class for the look.

Anyway enough with my rambles, please share your thoughts about oversized sweaters! Are you in for the bigger the better like me or nah? Thank you if you stopped by!

OOTD: That perfect biker jacket for fall

When it comes to fashion and clothes, everyone has their own favorite pieces or ‘categories’ that keep pulling them towards. For some it’s shoes, for some it’s bags or maybe sweaters. For me it’s coats and jeans. I can’t go a new season without a new coat, not even if I try to. I just always find an excuse why I should buy a new one, even if my wallet is telling me no.

Biker styled jackets have been in for a quite long time now and honestly I have had such a huge love and hate relationship with them. First I felt like they were too big for me, then I didn’t like how cropped they were. Now when my eyes caught this perfect piece from Zara all those thoughts were gone, poof. Maybe it was the suede that got me but oh I was in love. The jacket is faux suede with a warm and soft interior lining. Aka perfect for Finnish weather. It is definitely something that everyone needs to add to their wardrobe, it goes with everything simple as that.

Coat – Zara // Trousers – Monki // Shoes – Adidas // Rings – Weekday

And now moving on with the outfit. The jeans, or more like trousers really. I got these beauties from Monki, and yes the texture is corduroy even though the pictures are telling otherwise. I am really happy that cord is officially back in business because come on, it  easily beats denim during this cold season that we are about to enter. They are warm and oh so soft, and isn’t that exactly what this autumn is all about?

It wasn’t hard to choose a shoes to match with this outfit because biker jackets and sneakers are basically meant to be. And since I am obsessed with my Adidas sneakers, I pulled them on without hesitation and I was good to go. Oh and the rings were nice final touch, even though the pictures (again) aren’t doing justice for them.

The season of dazzling colors, comfy sweaters and fluffy socks is here. I have been waiting autumn to really kick in as if waiting for rising moon. And finally, as I watch colorful leaves fall from trees and feel the cold crispy wind rushing by, I can say autumn is here.

As much as I love change of the season I happen to love fall fashion more (what a surprise wow). All stores are full of beautiful fall collections and every year there is one color that pops out more than others. Last year it was mustard, this year it’s power red.

Shirt – Weekday  // Wool coat – Seppälä  // Hat – Brixton  // Trousers – H&M  // Backpack – Michael Kors // Shoes – Vans

If you told me few years ago that I am longing for red I would have laughed, hard. It has never been my favorite color but now all suddenly it just keeps pulling me towards. I want to get it all, sweaters, trousers, shirts, scarfs just everything that’s red.  But for now I am sticking with my shirt from weekday.

I think it’s easy to match pieces with red because it’s such a statement itself already. Brown is perfect color match for red so I pulled on my oh so cosy wool coat. I wanted to wear black bottoms (what a surprise again I know) but since I am always wearing jeans I pulled on trousers. A while ago I saw someone wearing thin black socks underneath their pants. So I rolled up the hems of my trousers and tried it myself, not so bad right?

And last but not least the hat. We need to take a moment for it. I mean it’s something that I thought I would never wear but here I am absolutely in love with it. It’s gives some real sailor vibes and it’s just perfect for fall as you sometimes need something to warm your little head.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have good rest of the week. And hey, remember to enjoy this beautiful season that’s going on right now, it won’t last for too long!!

Stealing style: Rachel Green from FRIENDS

Stealing style: Rachel Green from FRIENDS

I love friends and I feel like I have grown up with them even though I was very small when they originally aired. I just have this memory that they were always on the tv. I have watched all of the seasons million times (no joke) and you will forever find me re-watching them.

Through the years I have adored Rachel and her fashion choices. She was big part of the 90’s style trends and she was for sure Friends’ own style icon. Not that her style was left to the 90’s, she is still big part of the todays trends. Or well at least my closet happens to be full of similar clothes as her. And I know I am not the only one, Rachel Green kind of clothing seems to be very much in nowadays. So a blog post where I ‘steal’ Rachel’s style is more than relevant right now, am I right? I recreated three of her styles/outfits, the ones that are most timeless and well, my favorites. Let’s take a look shall we?

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I think black overalls are one of her most iconic looks. They are comfy, casual and so street style. And isn’t todays fashion all about that? Denim overalls are everywhere, blue or black it doesn’t matter. I personally prefer black as you all probably know so of course I have a pair of them in my closet. And what comes to stripes? They will always stay in style. Basically this look wasn’t even a steal (maybe it was an unconscious one) as I have worn black overalls for ages with simple tees and shirts.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Plain shirts, little black skirts and black tights are something that you can see Rachel wearing through all the seasons. Her color palette was always very simple; black, grey, white and some more colorful bits here and there. Just like mine, maybe that is why her style pulls me towards so much.

As I have mentioned several times in my previous posts black tights are my thing. My closet is also full of simple shirts so putting together her very feminine black miniskirt kida look was more than easy. My shoes were perfect final touch as the 90’s vibes are all over them and I am pretty sure I have seen Rachel wearing similar ones when Paolo sent them for her from Italy.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Denim, denim, denim. Wether it was  denim overalls, a skirt or good old jeans, she knew how to rock them. It all started from the very first episode where she wore oversized pink blouse, a white tee and denim jeans. This style wasn’t hard to steal since I practically live in denim mom jeans nowadays. A white tee is something that you find from everyone’s closet and even though I don’t own soft pink blouse my mom does for sure. So I borrowed that from her and volá.

White sneakers were something that all of the characters wore through the series and that’s no surprise since they are timeless and will never go out of style.

That is all about my style icon Rachel Green and how I copy her style in daily basis. What about you? Do you also take notes from Rachel’s style consciously or unconsciously, either way. Let me know!

I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed putting it together. Thank you so much for reading.

I don’t know about you but for me summer is officially over when august comes to an end and september kicks in. I have never been a summer person and I never will be, I just hate the heat. So the fact that the weather is already getting little colder everyday and I am able to wear tights and combat boots makes me squeak. While everyone else still enjoys last days of the summer and make finds from last chance sales my head is up and towards the new fall collections. I can’t wait to see what this years autumn fashion has to offer.

For me fall fashion is all about comfines and beautiful colors such as mustard, mocha, khaki and black. I love big sweaters, loose dresses, and black tights. The dress I am wearing is perfect example for what I wear during autumn, it’s comfy, loose, oversized and of course black. So basically it screams for fall.  The frill detail that goes around the waist is my favorite part of it, it gives the dress nice shape not making it look too oversized and big for me.

As I already mentioned combat boots and black tights are my thing during fall so no surprise that I matched them with this dress. All black everything once again. But hey I tried to bring little something into the outfit by wearing my new glasses and my beloved Daniel Wellington pieces. At least I tried right?

First warm day in Helsinki during this summer and what I wore? All black of course. But hey you can never go wrong with black. It’s simple, elegant, classy and it doesn’t go out of style. And besides, it’s just simply the best color out there (until they make something darker).

I bought this dress in a need of something fancy, Zara (surprise surprise) had other colors of it too but no way would I buy a dress full of color such as green or red! I went for my beloved black. I haven’t worn it much since the purchase. It’s little revealing and I just never have the guts to do so. Now when we finally had proper warm day I got one of those “now or never” moments and pulled it on without hesitation.

The ruffled short sleeves are my favorite part of this dress. I don’t know about you but I just find ruffles romantic. There is something really classic and feminine about them.

Dress – Zara | Bag – Longchamp | Sandals – H&M | Hat – Monki | Watch & Bracelet – Daniel Wellington

There is no rules to style all black outfit but I think adding pinch of color is the key to the nice final touch. My Longchamp backpack was perfect for that since I am backpack all the way kinda girl. Sometimes backpacks are more informal and casual but this one stuck perfectly to the romantic summer look that I was trying to pull off. I also think accessorizes are important part of the all black outfit (or any outfit really) so a watch and fedora hat on and I was good to go.
