Let’s admire my beauty advent calendar

Let’s admire my beauty advent calendar

When I was a kid the most existing thing about christmas was the fact that every morning when you woke up you were allowed to eat a little piece of chocolate that came from your advent calendar. And now even though I am all adult and grown december is not december without a christmas advent calendar. I was planning on buying that good old chocolate calendar but then I came across this beauty and yes my friends, it was time to ditch the chocolate and switch the advent calendar game a little.

And honestly guys this calendar is such a game changer. I have never seen anything as beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. It’s so pretty that I seriously didn’t want to open the doors to ruin the look of it. But um, obviously I got over that hehe.

The calendar is by Finnish skincare brand Lumene. I have always loved their products because a) they have such a good quality b) all the ingrients are from finland and c) as i already said their products are so pleasing for the eye. They have relieved all the products that the calendar includes but I honestly want to be surprised when I open the boxes so all I know is that there is lots of skincare products and some beauty products.

Behind the first door I got a glow boost drops that you are supposed to apply on your clean and fresh face. I have tried them once now, and holy moly the smell is absolutely amazing. Behind the second door I got a beautiful nail polish in the shade On the Beach. It’s such a nice soft pink color.

And that’s all I have opened so far. Please let me know if you would like to see a full review of all the 24 treats once I have tried them. Because I would be more than happy to do it yay.  Thank you for reading, hope you all have had a lovely start of december!

Beauty empties | Let’s review my trash

I have seen these posts going around for so long now and I find them really interesting because people are always honest when it comes to their trash right? So I started to collect my dear beauty trashes so I could review them for you. Now since I have quite a few of them let’s take a look shall we?

Lumene Matt Control Oil-fee Foundation – The coverage of this product is perfect for me, not too cakey but it still hides all my imperfections. I use this at work in daily basis which means five times a week, and the product is so long lasting (I have had it for over six months)!! Would I Repurchase? – YES

Lumene Under Eye Concealer – My under eyes are such a problem. There are always dark circles and veins everywhere no matter how much I sleep. This product seriously does huge difference , I absolutely love it.  Would I Repurchase? – Absolutely yes

Lush Let the Good Times Roll – This face scrub/cleanser is one of my favorite products ever from Lush (and I have tried like half of them). It smells like heaven and oh how gentle it  is on my skin leaving it soft and smooth. Would I Repurchase? – Yes

Dermosil Scalp Caring Shampoo – My scalp is so problematic, always itchy or red or dry. I have tried million different shampoos and this was the first one that actually calmed my scalp. I couldn’t go a shower without it. Would I repurchase? – Yes

Anastasia Beveryly Hills Brow Wiz – First I loved this. It defined my brows just fine, but I slowly started to dislike it as I just couldn’t get as sharp lines and brows with it as I wanted to so I switched to their dip brow.  Would I Repurchase? – No sorry ABH

The Body Shop Aloe Calming Foaming Wash – This one is my favorite of all the facial wash products that I have ever tried. The foam is so soft and gentle on my skin which I absolutely love. It leaves my skin clean (obviously) and hydrated. Definitely recommend trying. Would I repurchase? – YES YES YES

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer – First I absolutely loved this, it felt like it actually did a difference if I applied it or not. But now as I have used it for months I have learned that it doesn’t do big difference so it’s definitely not worth the money.  Plus it kinda feels oily on my skin even though it’s oily free?? Would I repurchase – No

Rituals The Ritual of Sakura Shower Foam – Okay this smells SO GOOD. It smells like floral heaven and yes I already said that about the Lush product but this is even better. This is what I want to smell like after every shower I take. And it’s also so soft on the skin. Just perfect. Would I repurchase? – ABSOLUTELY

My favorite skincare products

My favorite skincare products

I have never payed that much attention to skin care, I cleanse my face and moisturize but that’s all basically. My skin in clear, healthy and spot free most of the time so I have never really had the need to discover all the skincare products that are out there (even though I know there is no harm doing that, my skin won’t ‘bloom’ forever).  But I do have products that I really love and can’t go without so I thought it would be nice to share them with you.

All these products are made without harming animals. ❤

Lush – Let the Good Times Roll

Let’s start with my favorite of them all. A face scrub/cleanser from Lush. I love everything about this product. It smells so lovely, sweet and popcorn-ish with a pinch of cinnamon. It’s really gentle and it leaves my skin so soft and smooth. You can use it on your entire body but since I use it on daily basis I apply it only to my face so it lasts for longer.

Herbina – Moisturizing face cream 24h | Origins – Active charcoal mask

It took me really long time to find good face cream that actually moisturizes and leaves my skin as soft as little baby’s butt (and not sticky at all). I feel like I tried half of the face creams out there before I came across Herbina. It’s a Finnish skin care brand that uses only natural ingredients. I don’t think I will ever find better face moisturizer than this one.

As I sad at the beginning of this post my face is most of the time spot free but just like everyone else I have bad face days, weeks and months. At that time I lean on Origins’ Active charcoal mask.  It’s deep cleansing and it dries my oily areas (I tend to have oily t-zone). You can feel it working immediately when you apply it on. I love the after feeling on my skin – soft and fresh. I absolutely love it.

Dermosil – Hand cream walnut

I never see people consisting hand creams in their skin care related posts. Doesn’t hand creams and such things fit perfectly in the box of ‘skin care products’? I don’t know. But  hey hands are important too. Who wants to have dry hands? No one probably. Dermosil’s walnut hand cream is my all time favorite. First of all it smells heavenly and second of all it does miracles for my hands (no joke). It makes my hands soft like little babes butt (yes I did use that description already, no regrets). Also it’s not sticky which is something I can’t stand when applying a cream.

The body shop – Aloe calming foaming wash

Okay first of all I need to say that I am always in for a product that consists aloe. It just can’t be bad. This facial wash is mild and soap-free, best thing about it is the texture which is lovely soft foam. Since I don’t use that ‘heavy’ makeup this is perfect for my face. It cleanses really gently leaving my skin soft, hydrated and well clean.

Also I know I totally overused the word soft as I described these products but they all just make my skin so soft which is why they are my favorites.

So that is all about my current skincare products. Have you tried any of these before? If yes please leave your opinions below. Also if you have any good skincare product recommendations I am wide open for them.

Huge colourpop lippie haul + reviews

Huge colourpop lippie haul + reviews

I have wanted to try colourpop’s lip products for so long but expensive international shipping and customs duties have kept me from making an order. Once they announced big summer sales, I couldn’t stop myself from buying quite a few lippies. The package  that I received was really pleasing for my aesthetic eye, all the products were packed properly and there was sweet ‘handwritten note’ along small information booklet. I was really happy with it so far but how did I feel about their lippies? Lets see!

Overall review

All of the liquid lipsticks that I ordered were mini sized Ultra Satin lipsticks. Five of them came in a kit called ‘On a Whim’ and one I got for free. They didn’t dry my lips which was a big plus. Small minus was that some of the darker shades were really hard to apply. It felt like the lipstick just didn’t want to stick everywhere evenly.  Also something that disappointed me was that the shades looked really different on my lips than on the tube. I also ordered their lippie stix and a matching lip pencil, but let’s get into that later. First I want to ramble about the Ultra Satin lipsticks and their shades.

Left: Stud  Right: Mess Around

Stud –  I was little afraid to try this one on, it looked really orange on the tube and I just don’t rock orange shades. Now that I look at it on my lips I actually really like it.  It’s such a pretty, soft and warm color for summer days. This is the only shade from the collection that colourpop does not make as a full size.

Mess Around – I absolutely love this color. It’s unique and really different from my other nude shades. It turns more towards cold tones than warm (which is something that I usually go for). I can already see myself wearing this a lot especially when the weather gets more cold again.

Left: Prim Right: Dopey

Prim – I got this as a free sample and I was so happy with it when I swatched it to my hand. I have been searching for a perfect red lipstick and this filled all my needs. I absolutely love how it looks on my lips but it was so hard to apply on and it just smudged all over. But I will live with it because I love the color so much.

Dopey – This shade I thought I would hate but I fell in love with it. It’s really flattering soft pink and oh how easily and evenly it applied on. I think it’s really wearable and anyone could pull it off.

Left: TooLips Right: Magic Wand

TooLips – This one is way too dark for me. It makes my skin look really pale, which is something that I don’t want especially now that it’s summer. It’s really beautiful purplish shade, I just don’t see myself wearing it.

Magic Wand – This shade is really plain nude and I don’t know if I like it or not. Online the color looked more pink but actually it’s really warm beige.  For me it feels wrong to wear this light color but then again somehow I have ended up putting it on quite a few times already.

As I earlier mentioned I also bought Colourpop’s lippie stix in shade Boys Town and a matching lip pencil to go with it. The formula of the lippie stix is soft and creamy which I like, but it fades away really easily. The lip pencil in other hand is very pigmented and it leaves clean lines. The shade is such a nice everyday color and definitely my favorite from everything that brought. What a surprise since I am sucker for nice nude shades.

So that’s all about my Colourpop haul/review, hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. What was your favorite shade? Also check out my lipstick favorites if you want to see more of my lipstick rambles (got some killer nude shades there).

Sephora haul + first impressions

Sephora haul + first impressions

Over a week ago I did little day trip to Stockholm with my family. We only had a few hours time to wander through our favorite stores but I still managed to spend way too much money. I can’t hold myself back when I step into Sephora, I always walk out with their small and pretty bag. This time I happened to buy quite a few products that I have been dying to have my hands on so I wanted to do little haul to show them for you.

Too Faced Love Flush Long-Lasting Blush

First I want to talk about my new baby, a love flush long-lasting blush by Too Faced. I have always adored these blushes, the packaging is so gorgeous and they have a lot of nice shades. I don’t want my blush to be too pink or too orange, I want it to be perfectly in-between.  I bought it in shade baby love and it was exactly what I wanted. I have never been a big fan of blushes so I don’t have much to compare it with but so far I am loving it. It’s really pigmented so just a small amount gives enough color for my cheeks.

Too Faced Lip Insurance Lip Primer

Let’s stick with Too Faced for little longer. My sister bought their lip primer a while ago and she kept telling me how good it was so I had to give it a try. I’m so glad I bought it because it does it’s job better than I expected. It’s really soft on the lips and oh how much I love the fact that it does not dry my lips. It works really well especially with liquid lipsticks that tend to fade away.

Kat Von D’s Studded Kiss Lipstick

I have seen people hyping over Kat Von D lip products for so long but I have never bought them myself. To be honest, their packaging is just not that nice in my opinion which is why I haven’t paid more attention to them. I left all those thoughts behind and bought their Studded Kiss Lipstick in shade Lovegraft. I loved the shade when I swatched it to my hand at Sephora but when I got home and tried it on I  was just so disappointed. The color changed on my lips, it had plumish tone more than nudeish (which I expected it to be). The color is really gorgeous still, I just don’t know if I will ever use it.

Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick

I also took home Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in shade double dare. It makes my lips dry but it’s worth it because it lasts trough the whole day. I am really happy how it looks on my lips even though it has some orange vibes (something I usually don’t go for).

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer

And for the last but not least my favorite concealer. I have tried quite a few concealers and none of them work for my skin as well as this one. It covers my imperfections and it’s really easy to blend in. One small con about it is that it runs out really quickly which means I have to buy new one quite often. That ain’t good for my wallet.

That is enough beauty rambling for today. I am really happy with everything that I got even though the Kat Von D lipstick was not perfect success. Thank you if you stopped by! Have a lovely weekend!

What’s in my makeup bag?

What’s in my makeup bag?

Like most girls I adore makeup and I like putting it on as well as I can. It has taken me a long to actually find the perfect products for my face and skin. Right now I am quite happy with my everyday makeup but I know I will sooner or later have a need to try something new and just replace most of them. When I read beauty blogs I am always open for some good old ‘what’s in my makeup bag’ post because I am such a curious person and I just love to see what other people use on their face in daily basis. So I thought it could be fun peek into my makeup bag and ramble about my favorite products.

Foundation // Powder // Primer // Highlighter pen // Concealer // Under eye concealer // Powder brush – Real Techniques // Foundation brush – Real Techniques  // the black brush is just some random one from drugstore

For me, base is the most important thing when it comes to makeup. If you don’t do that properly nothing looks good in my opinion. I once decided to put little more money into my foundation and powder and I am so glad I did that. Mac studio fix has been my life saver. It gives full coverage with perfect matte finish which is all I could ask for. Mac’s Mineralize skin finish powder is a perfect match to it (obviously). It doesn’t make my face feel baked even though it has amazing coverage too. And since I haven’t praised great coverage enough yet Nars Radiant creamy concealer is worth mentioning for. Let’s just say it does it’s job when it comes to my imperfections.

If you have dark circles around your eyes in daily basis you know how hard it is to hide them. Under eye concealer by Lumene is my another life saver because it actually does something for the dark circles (thank god). I also use a highlighter pen by Dermosil to get better coverage underneath my eye.

Brow palette // Brow wiz // Brow gel // Eye makeup brush // Trio concealer

Eyebrows have become very important part of my makeup, just like for most of the people nowadays. My hair color is something between blonde and brown so it’s quite easy to find good shade for my eyebrows. I use Clarins brow palette to define my eyebrows and get them in shape. And to fill them in I use a Brow Wiz by Anastasia Beverly Hills. The pencil is really thin and sharp which makes it easy to use. I absolutely adore it and I am pretty sure that I’ll never find a product that beats it. To get the perfect final touch for my eyebrows, I first define my brow line with the pink shade from the trio concealer by Dermosil then I apply brow gel also by Dermosil. It makes the brows stay in shape and stick with me through the day.

Roller lash

I don’t use eyeshadow or eyeliner in my everyday makeup because honestly I am so bad at doing eye makeup. I only curl my lashes and apply mascara. I have tried quite a few mascaras and Benefit’s Roller Lash is the one that meets my needs. The best thing about it is that it doesn’t have fallout at all.  It also lifts and curls my lashes nicely, not making them sticky.

Lips and highlight

Shimmer blush // Highlighter // Lipstick // Lip liner // Fan brush by kicks

First the lips. I have tried to twist using liquid lipsticks lately because my lips have been so dry for the past few weeks. So currently I am obsessed with this gorgeous lipstick by Maybelline. I use it in a shade Bronzed which is a beautiful light nude color. It’s really soft and creamy on the lips so obviously it doesn’t make them dry at all. Again to get a better final result I use a lip liner by NYX in shade Vanilla Sky. It’s beautiful blonde color and perfect match for the lipstick.

Then last but not least the highlighter. Contour is another thing besides eye makeup that I am not really good at so I don’t bother contouring when it comes to my everyday makeup. I use The Balm’s highlighter to get that pretty glow for my face. If I want to get glow but also little blush on the cheeks I use Benefit’s Shimmer Blush. It’s perfect if you are looking for that natural radiance for your cheeks.

So that was little peek into my makeup bag, hope you found it as interesting to read as it was for me to write. If you are interested to read more about my favorite products you should check out my Winter season lipstick favorites – blog post.

Winter season lipstick favorites

Winter season lipstick favorites

I am not an expert when it comes to make up, but it doesn’t stop me from obsessing over every new trend that comes along. Right now nudes are on everyone’s lips, and for sure on mine too. A year ago I loved burgundy and dark red shades but it’s all new game now. I have way too many different brown/beige lippies which is why I wanted to do a little haul about my favorite ones so let’s get into it!

First let me introduce you my newest liquid lipstick – Crush by Anastasia Beverly Hills. I have been waiting to get hold onto Anastasia’s lip products for ages and finally few months ago they arrived to Finland. I picked this soft beige shade which looks more like berry pudding on my lips. I am more than okay with that because it stands out from my other beige shades. I am very pleased with the quality of this lippie. It lasts the longest of all the liquid lipsticks that I own.

Rogue Allure Velvet – La Rafinée (34)

I am not really that into pink toned lipsticks but sometimes variety is the spice of life. This Chanel lipstick was my very first matte finish lip product which is why I am so attached to it. It moisturizes my lips while giving them rich but sheer look, if that makes any sense hah. I always wear this when I want to give my lips more life and color.

Left – Child Star // Right – Cool Girl

(These pictures are not doing justice for the shades. Sorry about that.)

I bought my first liquid lipstick by Too Faced when I was in London last autumn and I fell in love immediately. They are quite expensive, about 25 euros, but totally worth the money. They are really soft and rich on the lips and they don’t dry my lips at all (of course I apply lip balm before the lipstick but still). And as a small great plus, these smell amazing too.

Child Star is really smooth nude shade that looks good with any type of makeup look. Cool Girl in other hand is more brown toned. It’s my favorite shade of all lip products that I own. It’s just simply so gorgeous and I think it’s perfect for winter season. I use my Nyx lipliner in shade Naturel with it to get better result and I can tell you that it really works. Some people think lipliners are waste of money but honestly they make the look more professional and lipstick lasts twice as long when you use a lipliner.

I could keep rambling about lip products for so much longer but I don’t want to bore you more this time hah. So that’s all about my favorite lippes, thank you for stopping by and hope you all have a lovely week.
